The latest in the VFX Townhall offerings comes tomorrow where the grass-roots organization is helping to facilitate another discussion. In this meeting, the conversation will center around the IATSE.
Those who read this blog know that I’ve been a member of The Animation Guild. I’ve written about the benefits and reasons for forming a union in the visual effects industry. Anyone who still has questions should make the time to attend. There are three locations that people are gathering.

VFXTownhall will also broadcast the conversations from their website. Panelists in Los Angeles and Vancouver include IATSE representatives, outspoken members from the community as well as working union members.
This is a great opportunity for anyone with questions or concerns about unionization to bring to the people with the answers.
Soldier On.
Funny, with the Pi Day town hall people were talking about how short notice just a couple of days was. I wonder when the next event announcement will be spread around. “It’s in 30 minutes – Go! Go! Go!” 😉
At any rate, I’m still looking forward to this and any future event where people are actively trying to solve at least some of the issues of our industry.

Perhaps, this may be helpful information regarding unions, and the Town Hall tonight. Today, VES posted on its site the December 2012 VES union discussion presented by (and I hope this is correct per Jeff Okun) the VES BLLC (Business, Labor and Law Committee).
Somebody better organize IATSE…if a 24 hour notice is the best they can do.
I sorry but I thought we “union people” were better than that…just saying.
Actually the basic info was out a couple of weeks ago. Best to hook up with social media (twitter, Facebook, etc) to keep up. Hopefully they can get more press and more info out sooner.
Amazing paintings! Which is the sort of info that should be distributed over the net. Shame on yahoo for the present time not positioning this specific submit better! Come on through and talk to my website. Thank you so much Means)
Dont forget, John Textor’s mantra…”It should have been so sweet, too. But it turned out to be the last time that street guys like us were ever given anything that fuckin’ valuable again.” (Casino)…
think, before you get suckered in to agreeing with ANYONE about ANYTHING.
again I say… THINK!
And ask yourself if someone is pushing something, ask yourself what’s in it for them. Lest you get crucified again.
Sounds like you have questions, David. Feel free to ask them
